Vasantotsav 2016 - A Classical Treat

Vasantotsav is an age-old tradition of Pune. An eclectic treat of Indian Classical Music, Vasantotsav has been appreciated and loved by Pune since 1985. For the 2016 edition of this grand musical programme many renowned performed. First it was Santoor Maestro, Satish Vyas who enthralled the audience with his magical tunes, followed by the versatile vocalist Anand Bhate. After these two soothing performances, Wadali Brothers doubled the energy quotient on stage with their group performance. The next day it was time for Meera Prasadji's Sitar performance which lulled the entire auditorium into a trance of classical fusion. Next, the audience was hypnotised during the live performance of 'Katyar Kaljat Ghusali', a phenomenal drama and an equally amazing film. The concert concluded on the third day with Pralhad Tipaniya's vocal performance followed by Kumar Bose on the Tabla. Vasantotsav 2016 ended on a high note with Rahul Deshpande and George Brooks' fusion music. The whole experience was inspiring and mesmerising for the audience.

Vastushodh was one of the sponsors for Vasantotsav 2016. As part of the Vasantotsav celebrations, we had organised a ‘CaptionIt’ contest on Facebook during the musical event. Our Facebook page members had to write creative captions for some iconic photographs and win prizes. The winners were given their prizes by some of the artists of Vasantotsav at the venue. Vastushodh’s MD, Mr. Sachin Kulkarni felicitated the artists at the concert.
